THE UKZN-IUC NEXUS
Introduction
The
partnership between the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa and
the International University of the Caribbean (IUC) in Jamaica represents a

In
April 2024, UKZN and IUC operationalized their partnership. IUC will be working
with UKZN preparing students to read for their research-only Master’s and PhD
degrees in a range of disciplines. The completion time for the Master’s degree
is planned for two years and the PhD in 3 years. All students will be prepared
for their research by participating in several courses and seminars.

International University of the Caribbean (IUC), Jamaica
The International
University of the Caribbean (IUC) is a dynamic institution of higher learning
in, Kingston, Jamaica. IUC was founded to provide quality education rooted in
global perspectives, and available to the deepest rural village. The University
is committed to preparing students for success in an interconnected world. It
has deep community engagement in its DNT and lives its motto “Seek peace and
pursue excellence” IUC is owned by the United Church of Jamaica and the Cayman
Islands.

IUC Main campus is situated in Kingston, providing a conducive environment for

facilities, including modern classrooms, and online library facilities, to
support students in their academic journey. In the early 1990s, IUC had over 18
satellite campuses that strategically took education to the people.
